Milan West Barrier

The project consists of the rehabilitation of the Milano Ovest barrier on the A7 Milan-Genoa highway. All elevation structures are hot-dip galvanized steelwork while foundations are on micropiles for the main structures and on direct foundations for the shelters. The tollgate is supported by six main portals placed at 23m spacing, having open-section columns of varying heights. The portals are made of a lattice structure in order to allow the transit of station personnel on a walkway positioned near the axis of the canopy.
