Design and digital evolution: the interview to BMS Progetti
Chiara Samorì, INGENIO’s news correspondent from Milan, met eng. Aldo Bottini, founding member of BMS Progetti, leader in Italy in structural design since early 90s, and now made of three separate divisions: architectural, structural and MEP design.
The goal of the interview is to understand the changes in the design field due to digitalization and BIM through BMS experience.
American Concrete Institute presents “Excellence” award to Palazzo Italia
The American Concrete Institute Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards have been the subject of great excitement in the concrete industry for many months now, and on the evening of Monday, October 24, 2016, the highest “Excellence” award was presented to Palazzo Italia (Italian Pavilion Expo 2015) located in Milan, Italy.
The Isozaki tower, nicknamed “il Dritto”, is a skyscraper designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki and Italian architect Andrea Maffei, located in Milan. With its 207 meters height from the actual street level, the tower is the tallest building in Italy at the roof, while at the antenna it reaches 247 meters high, making it the sixth tallest building in the European Community.

On December 7, the Teatro alla Scala will be returned to the city and for this event Marsilio, together with the Municipality of Milan, will present this volume that traces, through the story of all the protagonists of the construction site and a rich and exclusive photographic campaign, all the phases of the restoration and construction of the new architecture highlighting especially what could no longer be seen at the end of the works.
